Basketball went well on Wednesday! The coach has other staff members come in and play against the girls so they can see some harder competition. We had a blast! I am hoping to get to know that whole crew more while I am here. It was the first time all week I felt 100% in my element.
We had a pep rally on Thursday and you all know I loved it. I had a moment when the color guard was presenting the flag. Everyone was standing silent in the gym. I teared up for a second with how powerful that moment was. I was looking around and all of the sudden I realized how much we take for granted the presenting of the flag back home. Every single one of those students in that gym lives the life that they live because their parents are compromising their lives to make sure I live a freedom filled life. How powerful is that?
This weekend we decided to stay around here and experience the countryside like locals would do. Kendall's cooperating teacher lives exactly 1 mile from us and she took us all over. Her and her friend Bonnie were the sweetest ladies. They took us to have hot chocolate and purchase Henry Watson Pottery in Crownland. Then we traveled to Wyken Vineyards for lunch. It was a quaint little farm. The weather is a bit chilly but if it wasn't I could spend all day outside exploring.
I'm in the process of planning some weekend trips throughout Europe. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with traveling this side of the world? Let me know if you do.
I don't have more much for this post but enjoy the pictures!
